Today, I closed down the forum at http://forum.carlbarks.ws . The forum had been hacked, and the front page was changed. No activity was on the forum, so it seemed best to close it instead of getting it back in order...
I transferred my collectibles for sale page over to the domain www.carlbarks.biz (see link in the left menu).
Small changes to the site. Shortly, there will also be a new "collectibles for sale" page online. It will be pissible to signup for more different newsletters, and the email runs over my own database now, which means its much easier for me to handle them, and some newsletters will come soon ....
I completed the AR2000 list-price page. The page contains the last market update from Another Rainbow who is the producer of the famous Carl Barks lithographs.
At the same time, a new forum is opened, at http://forum.carlbarks.ws, which is a replacement for the old www.cbarksforum.com ! Please help get the forum "alive" by posting there - any suggestions to improvements is also velcome :o)
Its been a while since the last update. I have been working on PHP+SQL (Website programming), and recieved very valuable help from Sander, the webmaster of www.mcduck.nl. For starters, the new system are used on the Links page. When implemented on other pages, it will make the website appear more changable and "alive".
New design online :o) I find it much easier to read, and I got rid of these dark-blue colors along with the boring text-color. I hope you agree that this version is better! From now on and the next many months (I mostly work when its cold outside), I can concentrate on adding NEW CONTENT to these pages - Its been so long, since I last added anything....
No update for a while, but it have also been summer... Expect more updates in the fall-winter-early spring months ! I have just updated the GUESTBOOK with a new one, running on a local database since the old one was spammed.
Another item is added to the "Original Art Report" is added. This time the sale of a 1970's oil painting...
A new section is made; "Carl Barks Photographs", where photographs of Mr. Barks is published - and some for the very first time. For example the signing of some of the Disney Art Editions serigraphs... More photos will be added, as each photo will be commented on time, whats happening on the photo etc.
I was able to get the http://www.carlbarks.ws domain (.ws = website). I think its a very saying name, since this website is about Carl Barks... For information, logos etc. will for now still be cbarks.com, and the .com domain will also remain active for a long period - and likely to run along with the new one....
BIG NEWS - I have added photos of Barks signing some of the Disney serigraphs... NOT seen anywhere else on the internet !! Other non-published Barks photos will be added shortly.
Information and a picture of the "I May Have To Spend Some Of This Stuff", Carl Barks Studio seripgraph is added. Uncle Scrooge sitting in his money-bin which is so full, his hat is pressed on the ceiling !
A new front !! As enter page to cbarks.com is added a drawing of Scrooge in his money-bin holding Mr. Barks on the shoulder, as he is number 1. The drawing is made by Mr. Simons from The Netherlands, using first sketch-idea, preliminary, final preliminary-transfer and last the colouring.
A Photo of Mr. Barks is added to the "Disney Art Editions" page. Carl Barks is posing in front of "Rich Finds At Inventory Time" after completing it, with a paint-brush in his mouth.
Just a small update with the original issue prices for the 3 Carl Barks Studios serigraphs.
Well over christmas and new-year, I added an ORIGINAL ART REPORT page, where Im going to list sale prices/auction prices for original Carl Barks art; oil-paintings, paintings, drawings etc. but mostly items related to oil-paintings. Its a slow start with only 1 item listed. The page will soon be updated with details of the sale of an original-oilpainting from the 1970's, and ofcourse both old/new sales will be added later on...
